NYFW 2024
New York- NYFW was yet another cast of runways filled with surprises. We had the honor of attending the Sergio Hudson FW24 show. Nothing short of amazing. Sleek bold shoulder blazers, retro denim that replicated a blast from the 70’s and sexy yet classy dresses that can easily transcend from day to evening. Hudson continues to create timeless garments. Which is profoundly illustrated each season.
Sergio Hudson finale for Fall-Winter 2024
During an intimate backstage interview held the following day after his showcase. Hudson vividly expressed his passion for textiles and who he believes his designs are dedicated to. The confident woman. The father of two girls and as he appropriately addressed himself, a “Girl Dad”- Made it clear that he loves dressing women and Hudson’s’ inspiration came from his mother, noting other women in his family with style also played a huge part for his love for fashion. Hudson took it a step further by explaining the process for designing his 100 + runway show. The poignant details, his favorite model whom he meticulously constructs a look for-because she doesn’t exactly fit his garments, yet she is the perfect muse who delivers exactly what he’s always looking for to capture his thoughts visually.
The South Carolina native even shared the business side of running an successful line. Hudson’s conversation was one of education with much authenticity. One that was refreshing to hear. His enthusiasm, even expressed with exhaustion , was nothing shy of pure gratitude.
