Nearly 30 children vanish within two weeks in Cleveland
New York- The recently reported disappearances of nearly 30 children in Cleveland has a local authorities completely baffled.
Newburg Heights Police Chief John Majoy, who also serves as the board president of Cleveland Missing, said as many as 27 children, (12 to 17-year-olds )who were reported missing has been unprecedented in the greater Cleveland area this past month. Majoy believes that the majority of the cases are likely runaways rather than abductions and suspected trafficking.
“There’s always peaks and valleys with missing persons, but this year it seems like an extraordinary year,” he said. “For some reason, in 2023, we’ve seen a lot more than we normally see, which is troubling in part because we don’t know what’s going on with some of these kids. “It’s really hard to digest at this point because once the children are found, we can analyze the data and see where it is taking us,” he said.
For now, Chief Majoy says his team is working around the clock to solve these cases. Their goal: bring peace of mind back to these families and their community.
“Unfortunately, some of these things do not have the best endings. We don’t want there to be bad endings to these cases, we don’t want these children to become victimized,” Majoy said.
This matter does not appear to be of importance, many have said. Take a listen to the video.
Without any knowledge. Not knowing if the missing children are being trafficked, held against their will? This number should not be this alarmingly high. It leaves many to question as to how much effort has really been initiated? And why has this story only taken on media attention after so many have gone missing? +
