New York- This year has been a great year for celebrating milestones. For instance, Hip Hop music turned 50. Which many nay sayers actually landed the genre of music and culture in the trash. Not knowing the supporters and fans would carry it this decades later.

And just like Hip Hop music and its culture. Dave has continued to be one of the most successful comedians of our time. After parting ways with Comedy Central in the early 2000’s. Many said the star would not be able to bounce back. That has never been more farther from the current reality. Chappelle went on to sign a multi-million dollar deal with Netflix in 2016, leading him to headline several comedy shows- even dominating pay per view performances with the leading streaming giant. Headlining at Madison Square Garden, has always been a dream according to Chappelle. He revealed that in a surprise appearance at the Comedy Cellar in New York just one day before his all-star birthday celebration was set to begin. As anyone would’ve imagined each show was completely sold out. Chappelle had several of some of his comedic buddies open for him each night. It was not like any other comedy kick off. HEIGHT Magazine was in attendance for Saturday’s bash. DJ Trauma served a medley of samples from classic tunes JAY-Z has sampled on many of what is now considered as his greatest hits. Jefferey Ross served has host. Ronny Cheing, Michelle Wolf and Pete Davidson did their sets. It was John Mayer who sparked off the musical guest performances. King of the South, T.I. hit the stage and Young Dro popped out for the song ‘Shoulder Lean… followed by Common and Busta Rhymes with Splif Star who splashed the front row with champagne in honor of Chappelle.

There were so many hugs in order. You could tell the excitement with Chappelle as he introduced each musical guest.

The show was amazing. As John Mayer spoke briefly about his good friend. Something he said was completely true-”Dave— I’ve never met a genius. I mean, He is a GENIUS”-John Mayer
